Pupil Development Grant Statement.

The Pupil Development Grant (PDG) is allocated to school with pupils who come from low income families and entitled to Free School Meals (FSM). Schools are expected to make the most of this funding to implement sustainable strategies that will bring about changes for learners eligible for free school meals. In 2023/24 the school allocation is £27,600 (nearly all of this money has been utilised for staffing costs to support pupils). The school receives no Early Years Pupil Development Grant.

At school we:

- identify the target group of pupils along with their characteristics and needs.

- plan interventions which make the most effective use of resources.

- monitor and evaluate the impact of resources.

-monitor, evaluate and review how the money is utilised and its impact on the wellbeing, and development of pupils.

At Penderyn Primary School we have a comprehensive plan to promote progress and remove barriers to learning for children eligible to FSM.

We've provided intervention and support programmes in Literacy & Numeracy that are proven to have an impact on educational attainment (e'g' small group interventions, additional technologies and Language Support work). Wellbeing is of paramount importance and staff have received ELSA training to support the emotional and social development of all pupils.
